Tah Dah...

Okay, I have been promising this and now I think that I am ready to really concentrate on it and get it done...this may be long, but worth it. Some of this will be a little repetitive, but I just want to make sure that everybody is on the same page. Don't forget to check out the picasa web album for more pictures.

We left Georgia Fathers Day and had a uneventful trip to Michigan, except for the heat that followed us. It stayed warm for most of our time there. I really want to thank Jonette and Steve for having us at their place. The campsite was wonderful and the hosts were gracious as always. We managed to get in a little visit with most of our family and friends. Sorry that the visiting couldn't have been longer. But none the less, we did manage it.

I was soooo glad to have seen Bonnie, (long time friend from high school), you are looking great! Next time we will spend more time together...still a lot to catch up on.

We had a great visit with Dana and Jimmy, (glad to have met you), and even spent some time with my great nephew Gavin. Thanks Matt and Lindsay for letting Grandma take him for the weekend. He was a blast. The zoo was such great fun.

Gavin and Grandma....too cute!

Gavin, Jessica, Lindsay, and Jarred, all had a good time...

Just a little shout out to Zak....CONGRATULATIONS!!!! on your graduation from college and the job that you have secured. I have nothing but admiration for your accomplishments. Keep moving forward Zak, I know you will continue onto greater things.

Visiting with the family was great. We really just didn't have enough weekends for more visiting. Some of you are working way too hard...

We left Michigan after the Fourth of July and started making our way to Colorado. Lots of corn in Iowa and Nebraska....lol. Wyoming settled out into more ranches. We did manage to see some wildlife along the road, mostly Antelope. I also caught a Coyote.

This guy posed for us, but after a couple of shots he had enough...

We had stopped to get the Antelope, but I just happened to see the Coyote and we watched them play....first the Antelope chased they Coyote then, visa versa. It was a long shot and I was too excited to really get a good picture, but this what I have. If you click on the images in the blog, I believe they will enlarge a little more.

Our first stop in Colorado was Yampa River SP. Nice little campground.

This family of marmots was our welcoming committee.

Although we did not stay in Yampa River too long, we did manage to get a run over to Rocky Mountain National Park. Guess what, we also got into a snow flurry...it was awesome. We also saw our first Moose. Well, a little guy and mama, but she was shy and she didn't let the little one get too close to the people, but I got a picture.

You can just barely see mom in the background...she is the big black spot behind the little one. If you look hard you can see the top of her ear.

In case some of you haven't had enough of this white stuff....it was neat for us to see. Just doesn't happen in Georgia too often. As a matter of fact there was quite a bit of snow left in the peaks....was kind of surprised at how much was still on the ground.

We went around to some other state parks in the Yampa/Steamboat Springs area...they are have a time with the pine beetle. Some of the parks look like a war zone. They have finally started to cut down the dead timber. What a mess. I am not sure how they will recover from this.

We made it to our home for the summer, Saturday the 10th of July. I think that they are glad to see us... We are glad to see them. We already had the chance to visit with our friends from last summer, Jeany and Ken, (fellow camp host), and hopefully we will get to visit Eleven Mile SP to see all that are there.

We already have a full schedule of things to do and see......will we have enough time this year???...who knows, maybe we will have to come back again. That will be decided at a later date.

And my blog would not be complete with out a picture of wildflowers.

Aren't they beautiful??

All is well with us and the girls, (who by the way), are very glad to have stopped for a while, until the next time...
